Wessex Model M Violin VI136
The Renaissance of a Tradition
Each instrument is individually labelled and is accompanied by a hand written Certificate of Authenticity, bearing photographs of the instrument.
The Wessex ’M’ is a handmade modern interpretation of the English school of violin making. The instruments are made to the highest standards using Balkan maple and Bavarian spruce and are finished with a traditional chestnut-brown oil based varnish that recreates the look of English makers Kennedy and Hill.
These instruments are made from the finest selected materials and have greater attention to detail both internally and in the exterior finish.
The back made in two pieces of selected highly figured Balkan maple, the ribs and scroll are in similar wood; the table in two pieces of Bavarian spruce of narrow or medium-narrow grain. Hand applied oil varnish of a rich reddish chestnut brown colour over a gold ground with some slight shading.
Quality ebony or rosewood fittings in a French or English pattern. Despiau A Grade bridge fitted as standard.
Typical measurements: LOB 356mm, UB 166mm, MB 116mm, LB 208mm
